One of the institutional foundations of Davi Tangerino Advogados is its pro bono work, an activity historically carried out by its founding partner. The firm’s pro bono work aims to defend (litigation) and support the defense (legal opinions) of vulnerable people and groups who cannot afford to pay the costs inherent in criminal proceedings on their own.
Below is a brief summary of some of the cases in which we have acted:
The Freedom Project is a network of lawyers, organizations and public defenders that acts free of charge to defend people and organizations that are targets of fundamental rights violations. One of its objectives is to defend organizations that are targeted by the state or by actions for the right to land, such as indigenous leaders. One of the cases embraced by the project is the defense of public servants subject to administrative action, such as an IBAMA inspector dismissed after fining Former President Jair Bolsonaro; another is the Alter do Chão case, in which the Project acts in defense of four young people prosecuted and also of the entities mentioned – the WWF and the Health & Happiness Project ( Projeto Saúde & Alegria - PSA).

Davi Tangerino Advogados provides legal advice to Transparency International, a global anti-corruption movement with a presence in more than 100 countries and more than two decades of experience. In Brazil, Transparency International has a team of Brazilian professionals who work in collaboration with the Secretariat in Berlin and the other countries where the organization is present. Since 2016, the organization has had its own structure in Brazil, made up of an executive team and an Advisory Board.
